Initiative

Six (6) Conservation Authorities in the Lake St. Clair and Lake Erie Basins are working together to deliver locally tailored Phosphorus Reduction Programs. This four-year initiative provides cost-share funding and support for on-farm practices that reduce phosphorus losses, such as cover cropping, reduced tillage, 4R nutrient management, manure management, and other beneficial projects.

Improving water quality and enhancing habitat by planting trees and shrubs to retire fragile agricultural land, establish field windbreaks, or create buffers along watercourses and wetlands.
